Cloud 9 Weekend

Well, I am ecstatic to report that I saw and spoke to Casey Daigle on my walk early this evening. That makes twice this weekend. He was once again such a sweetheart to talk with. I asked him if he would sign a baseball if I brought one over and he said absolutely. So, I went and got the baseball as well as Ryan so that he could meet him. Casey graciously took a picture with Ryan and I have it proudly displayed on my FaceBook page. I asked Casey what words of advice he would give to Ryan and he said "Practice, Practice, Practice". He then went on to tell Ryan that he practices 6 days a week. I know that I won't be bumping into Casey very much more as he takes off for Spring Training on February 3rd.

You'll Never Guess Who I Met On My Walk Today

So, I am on my walk with Kovu late this afternoon minding my own business and taking in the crisp air when I saw a guy fishing in our neighborhood lake. I looked over at him and asked if he had caught any today. He responded with a "No, not yet". As he says this I am walking away but as I am walking away I tell myself, OMG, that is Casey Daigle. I know, most people don't know who Casey Daigle is, but being the baseball nut that I am I happen to know who Casey is (right handed pitcher who signed with the Texas Rangers three weeks ago). At that point I was totally excited and didn't know what to do. I so badly wanted to look back and say "hi" and wish him luck for the upcoming season......BUT, I chickened out. I continued on my way but told myself that I would have to quickly figure out my game plan......I would take another lap around the lake and when I saw him I would ask if he knew what the time was - that would break the ice I thought. I finished my lap in record time (amazing what I will do when there is a handsome baseball player in my midst) and when I saw him again out of my mouth came "any luck"? His response....."Yep, just caught one". I continued on a few steps (kicking myself) and then back tracked and asked him if he was Casey. He responded with a solid "Yes", and a kind "Do I know you?". I said "No, but that I was a fan of his as well as his wife" (his wife is the beautiful and awesome softball player Jennie Finch). I told him that I was pleased that he had signed with the Rangers as they are in major need of some good pitching (he looked at me shocked as few people are even aware that he had signed with the Rangers). It was so great talking with him and he was an absolute sweetheart. He signed my Rangers hat for me (he laughed because he didn't think that anyone in California had a Rangers hat). So, on top of hitting a few Dodger games this year, I will need to make a few visits to Anaheim Stadium when the Angels are playing the Rangers. Spring Training and baseball can't come quick enough for this baseball lover.

Dodger Wedding Of A Lifetime

On Saturday, January 10th, we attended Bobby Snarey's (Steve's Step Brother) wedding. Bobby and Heather got married in the infield of Dodger Stadium followed by a reception in the Dodger Club. Bobby and I share in the love of the Dodgers and I was in heaven the whole night. It was by far the most awesome wedding I have ever attended! There were so many awesome touches to the wedding and reception that I don't even know where to begin but one thing is for sure that I will never forget the evening. Even Roger, the world famous Dodger peanut guy attended the reception and threw out peanuts to the attendees.

Pyramid Time For Ryan

Ryan was provided the assignment in Social Studies to create a pyramid. I was proud of how Ryan brainstormed ideas of how he was going to create his pyramid. With lots of hard work by Ryan and some assistance from Poppa (thank goodness for Poppa as I know the project would have been a complete flop if I had to help), Ryan completed his pyramid four days before it was due. Ryan actually took a whole day out of his holiday break to work on his pyramid. We are all now waiting patiently for Ryan's grade on it. Thank you Poppa for all of your hard work as well - don't know what we would do without you!!!!

Holiday Fun

I know, I am way late in blogging this but wanted to share some pictures from the holidays. We had lots of holiday fun including good times with family and friends, looking at lights, a trip to Sea World and Disneyland to name a few.
