Arising when most normal people are still sleeping we awoke our chauffeur and his car pool lane buddy for our ride to the airport. Flight check in went smoothly and we lined up amid the construction to board the dual leg of our journey. While waiting we received a few frantic texts from the junior copilot requesting directions back to our starting location as the senior pilot ended up in unfamiliar territory. The first flight was short and was uneventful unless you count Pam being elbowed every few minutes by an oversized man in an undersized seat OR Pam leaving her primary glasses in Ryan's backpack much to our first child's confusion. During our intermission to flying we shared a sandwich in Phoenix, the land of extreme heat. On flight two I spent much of the 5+ hour flight watching Lord of the Rings #2. Other than peanuts or drinks not much else happens on Southwest airlines, as they are inexpensive for a reason not to mention the home for failed comedians posing as stewards. That was fine though as $6 movie headphones, extra pack of peanut and the additional baggage fees are not worth the extra cost. Pam felt the call of nature during the flight and felt bad asking the cute guy eating Cinnebuns to move.
On arrival in Boston we took the shuttle to the hotel and were greeted with fresh chocolate cookies with pink M&Ms. Boston is an expensive city in which to vacation as its size and population are contributing factors for the high cost hotels. For dinner we walked to Olive Garden and both had the unending pasta bowl that we totally took advantage of by finishing our initial serving before declaring ourselves full. Our waitress while very nice was a true blonde as she spent most of the time there conversing with the patrons switching subjecs at a moments notice. Sealing her fate was when I received our check and was disappointed in Pam for her four glasses of wine consumed not to mention her lobster pasta... Oh wait... Wrong check. Our night ended with a little shopping, FaceTime chat with our kids and Pam's visit to the gym.
